The Spirit That Is Christmas

A Beautiful Message – Straight From The Heart

The Spirit That Is Christmas – As we embark on one of the most celebrated holidays on the planet, I think looking beyond the commercialism of Christmas is vitally important. Sure it’s great to give and receive but understanding the genuine spirit that is Christmas, I feel, has been lost in all the hype.

Giving: giving is a great way to let someone know they have made an impact on your life but it doesn’t have to be extravagant, it doesn’t have to be expensive, all it needs to be is from your heart. Being mindful of others needs, will most definitely simplify this process. In most cases, all it takes is a touch, a hug, a few kind words or plain old acknowledgement that the person is in your heart or has made a difference in your life. There are millions of people worldwide that would give it all just for a hug!

Receiving: receiving is also wonderful and can be extremely fulfilling and even euphoric but please take the time to think of those that haven’t ever felt this gesture. People that don’t have anyone, people who don’t understand what it is like to receive. Generally I have found those people who don’t understand receiving are those that are always too busy giving! Just remember that giving even something as small as a hug, or words of encouragement will provide you with a return that is immeasurable.

Next, as I always do I want you all to be respectful to our planet and the creatures, including humans that live here. I spend countless hours fighting tooth and nail for animal rights and protection, and in saying that, I want to convey to you my Christmas wish. Think before you put  over fashion and trends over suffering and mortality.

Think before you turn a blind eye towards the reality of animal and environmental abuse. Think before you walk away from an innocent creature that needs your help or needs your hand. We have been given this life and there is only one! Use it wisely, with passion and with purpose –  for one day, if we don’t, it will be too late and all the excuses will be without valor!

Finally, treat your mental health as if it were that million dollar diamond you want for Christmas. In these trying times the suicide rate has skyrocketed and become almost the norm. There is help out there for all who suffer and if you take my words seriously and understand my story, you will overcome! I have learned that it’s okay to say that I am a survivor, to be proud and to share in order to help others!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone!

May this next year be the one in which you discover your true purpose in your heart and learn to be compassionate with it. Love you all!
