Jambo – Hello!
There are many difficulties to face in the process of pursuing your dreams. We, Capture Africa Tours too have experienced the obscurities and stresses in turning dreams into a reality. But when your passions are so grand and true, it is even more difficult to succumb to failure than it is to succeed. That is why we are so proud to introduce ourselves and our passions to you! Founder of Capture Africa Tours, Dick Berry is ready to share with the world his knowledge of professional photography and his enduring love for wild Africa.
After more than 25 years of commercial photography, Dick broadened his horizons and chose a new set of photo subjects which quickly changed his life forever. With a lifetime of personal passion and interest in the conservation of the wildlife, land, and people of Africa, Dick embarked on his own journey to create a tour company with the purpose of bringing awareness to all of this and more. The art of photography plays an important role in the tours we offer, as it allows you to take a slice of Africa home with you so you can reminisce and give tribute to the beautiful and unforgettable experiences you had on tour.
Dick provides each traveler with personal and professional photographic assistance on each game drive to help you in areas such as composition, lighting, equipment, and creative techniques. Our tours are designed to guarantee exceptional wildlife viewing for optimal photographic opportunities with only 3-4 people per vehicle to maximize individual space. We pride ourselves on our photography centered tours but are more proud to invite individuals with no photographic experience as well! Dick Berry and Capture Africa Tours believes that a trip to Africa will undoubtedly change your life, and our photography assistance along the way is quite simply a beautiful and rewarding bonus of traveling with us.
Dick’s personal dedication to providing outstanding service and learning opportunities could only be matched by partnering with the best ground tour operators in the regions in which we visit. On Dick’s first visit to Africa he met a man named Joseph Ndunguru, a Tanzanian native who shared the same lifelong passions and interests as he has. Joseph was welcoming and inspiring and a friendship quickly flourished. He owned his own tour company, Nasera Safaris and had quite the reputation with many well-known people and organizations.
Joseph previously worked as a guide for Abercrombie and Kent where he gained high notoriety, leading tours for Bill Gates, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, Prince Charles, and members of the Smithsonian Institution to name a few. Educated in Uganda and the United States on wildlife and tourism, Joseph has a lifetime of experience and knowledge and has been credited as one of the World’s 10 Best Guides in the Conde Nast Traveler and Travel and Leisure Magazine. Joseph has truly accomplished a lot but he is most known for his humor, warm personality, and true passion for Africa. Dick and Capture Africa Tours proudly partners with Joseph and his company Nasera Safari to provide you with the best guides and game drive experiences on our tours.
It is without a doubt that the main focus of traveling with Dick and Capture Africa Tours is to witness the beauty that naturally is – Africa. The diverse wildlife that roam the lands, the majestic landscapes that stretch farther than the eye can see, and the personal transformation that will take place in your soul are all reasons to travel to Africa. We strive to share all of this with you, but in our hearts we truly wish to encourage a higher level of support against the struggles that wild Africa has been facing for decades.
Much of Dick’s passions for travel and photography are deeply rooted in his love for animals. Protecting the wildlife through conservation is vital to keep up with poaching and other destructive forces. What we hope to achieve through our tours is to invoke a sense of understanding and a desire to be involved in preserving Africa. On our tours we visit places such as The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Amboseli Trust for Elephants, both of which have teams that have dedicated their lives to wildlife conservation and rehabilitation. Dick, Capture Africa Tours, and all partnerships share the same passion for the wildlife, environment, and cultural preservation and together we know we can make a difference.
With our passions as the driving force of everything we do, Dick Berry created Capture Africa Tours to share with you the power of travel, photography, and all that Africa has to offer. Whether you’re simply drawn to the unspoiled wilderness or are seeking for a way to revitalize your soul, we can help get you there. We provide picture perfect pre-designed tours that take you to East Africa’s most coveted conservation areas and national parks such as the Serengeti, Tsavo, Amboseli, Maasai Mara, and Ngorongoro Crater, to list a few.
If you have dreamed of something more specific, we can provide full service in creating a customizable itinerary to meet all of your needs, including optional trip extensions. Capture Africa Tours ambitiously provides each traveler with the highest standard of accommodations and professional photographic assistance that will ensure you leave Africa with the best possible experiences and images that truly reflect the beauty beyond the lens.
Experience Amboseli, Tsavo, and Chyulu National Parks on the“Land of the Giants” tour. These picturesque parks are an elephant lover and photographer’s paradise. On this 10-day photo safari we will also visit the Amboseli Trust for Elephants and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for private viewings of orphaned elephants.
