The Splendour Of Winter
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – December 11, 2004 – Winter descends upon us with a shimmering beauty unlike that of any other season. Spring, summer and autumn are quieter, more subtle, less evident. The day of the arrival of winter weather may not coincide with the winter solstice.

Remembering Stolen Lives
Lest We Forget Them
Remembering Stolen Lives – it’s common place to read the story and see the image of a lost animal – especially those whose lives were stolen through abuse – corruption – greed, ignorance and betrayal. We say a silent prayer for them and then we move on. There will be a new story and another haunting photograph the next day.

Pig Tales
Pig Tales by Iggy Oink – 12 – So here’s the thing about pigs – not only do we like to listen to music – we have at least 20 different grunts and squeaks and noises. Pig Tales
Pig Tales by Iggy Oink – 11 – So here’s the thing about pigs – we have been known to save the lives of people. For the life of me I can’t imagine why – considering how humans treat us – but there are documented stories of pigs pulling people out of rivers, bogs and pools. We have also been known to save drowning dogs and goats. And a Mother pig will fight for her piglets if she has the chance.

Repetitive Tasks
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – December 9, 2004 – Just so you know – I’m not complaining, I’m just observing life and commenting on the repetitive nature of the daily, weekly, monthly or yearly cycles that we humans go through, and the tasks that we have to keep doing over and over and over again.

Pig Tales
Pig Tales by Iggy Oink – 10 – So here’s the thing about pigs – not only do some pigs have jobs – BUT pig heart valves are used to replace human heart valves. A pig doesn’t have to be Einstein to understand the significance of this – for a human to live a pig is gonna die. Yikes! And insulin and a couple of dozen other medicines and drugs come from pig products. Hey people – I don’t like that word “product” …
