The Inukshuk 12
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – October 25, 2004 – The last coat of glaze is done! They are finished. The Inukshuk 12 are lined up on my fireplace mantel. Well, to be honest there are 13 – sort of a Baker’s Dozen of the Inukshuk world. I made a mini-Inushuk of all the left-over white stones that were at the bottom of the rock bag.

Looking For What Is Right
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – October 24, 2004 – I bought a book last year by Debbie Ford – an American “life” coach. It’s titled The Right Questions. I read it at the time but then put it aside and didn’t really think that much about it. I was cleaning out a box in my office the other day when I came across it. I leafed through a few pages and it seemed a good idea to re-read it, so I put it on my bedside table.

A Beating Heart
Cast Of Characters – When I started my animal blog – A Beating Heart on February 14, 2013 – I was motivated to do so to create awareness about the issues that animals are facing in every country around the world. My introduction to animal activism started 8 years ago with the adoption of 11 baby elephants and little Max – the orphaned, blind baby rhino at The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Africa. These little beings touched my heart then and they still do today. I have watched them grow up and I’m thrilled to be a part of their lives!

The Bearer Of Bad News
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – October 23, 2004 – I had a meeting today with a new client. She may or may not want to make a move, but part of the process of making a wise decision about real estate is to look at all your options. Once you know what is possible, you can move ahead and make plans.

Closing Down My Garden
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – October 22, 2004 – I had lunch with my friend Peter today, and when I got home I realized that it was time to shut off my water fountain, store away my garden ornaments and put the tarps over my outdoor furniture. Even though the first frost hasn’t hit, the potted plants are well past their prime and the ferns are brown.

From Confusion Comes Clarity
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – October 21, 2004 – The task of analysing and re-orienting my approach to business and developing my new Web Sites is proving to be a much larger nut to crack than I’d anticipated. I’ve had a few days of overwhelmedness followed by some new ideas, then a reversal back into confusion. Then finally tonight a sharp twist around to some clarity.

Lunch With Jackie
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – October 20, 2004 – I had lunch with my friend Jackie today. She of the west end home, the husband, four children and a small landscaping business. We’ve been friends for eighteen years, more or less, and met when we were both unwitting captives, I mean employees, in the same multi-national computer company.
