My Meeting With Larry
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – September 29, 2004 – I frighten myself. I arrived at the office today for my meeting with Larry, armed with one of my signature three ring binders. Instead of the usual five dividers this one had ten. Larry was bound to notice – at my last meeting with him nine years ago I had a blank sheet of paper.

The LA Kids – Art For The 2014 Global March For Elephants-Rhinos-Lions
The LA Kids – Art For The 2014 Global March For Elephants-Rhinos-Lions. We all remember the amazing art done by The Lion Kids for The Global March For Lions in March of 2014. We marched in 62 cities around he world and the kids helped to tell people why it is wrong to kill canned lions. Their pictures were colourful, hopeful, creative, beautiful and inspiring.

“Dear Diary”
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – September 28, 2004 – I have no idea what happens when I go to bed feeling pretty darned good and wake up a few short hours later in neck-snapping mode, my own or that of anyone unfortunate enough to cross my path. Last night was one of those nights. I chatted with Big for about half an hour before I went to bed, read some more of my Moby Dick Book Club selection and turned out the light.

Making Judgements
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – September 27, 2004 – Perhaps I should just say – “being judgmental”. As much as I’d like to believe that I don’t make judgements about other people, I do it all the time. Sometimes it’s at a sub-conscious level. I know this because I can be in a public place, surrounded by other people, and I’ll suddenly be aware that I’ve seen a person and had a gut level reaction to them.

Simple Things
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – September 26, 2004 – I had intended to take today off, but I ended up spending the afternoon with two different clients, at opposite ends of the city. It’s seven o’clock now and I’m back home. It was a glorious day in Toronto. Sunny – not hot – clear, blue cloudless sky. It’s the weather we should have had in August, but didn’t.

On A Roll
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – September 25, 2004 – I am a crazed woman – on the verge. Just which verge it is, I’m not sure – but I’m definitely there. Only allowing time out for client meetings, sleeping, Augie’s bathroom parade, the odd bickie for Ziggy and a sandwich for ‘yours truly’ – I’ve been working on my new marketing plans since this past Tuesday.

Business Evaluation
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – September 24, 2004 – I was scheduled to meet a client this morning at eleven for coffee. I was still in my sweats and right in the middle of an evaluation of my business from 1995 to the present, and I really didn’t want to leave. As luck would have it – my phone rang at ten o’clock and my client had to cancel for today.
