Sunder and Raju – Rescued Asian Elephants

Sunder and Raju – Rescued Asian Elephants – Sunder a 15 year old elephant and Raju a 50 year old elephant have been rescued in India. Both were captured as calves – torn away from their herds and enslaved. Mere money making commodities – in the temple and elephant begging industries. Sunder’s freedom finally came in June 2014 after a contentious court battle spearheaded by PETA and championed by thousands of people around the world. Raju – kept illegally with no paperwork – was freed on July 4, 2014 by London based Wildlife S.O.S. – it is believed that he may have had more than 20 owners during his tortured life.

Screwed Again

Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – July 13, 2004 – There is a wonderful old saying and I paraphrase – “If I’m going to be screwed – I at least like to be kissed first” – and last week this did not happen. I was abruptly dismissed by clients because they failed to get a house they wanted in a bidding war. Had they listened to my advice – they would have been the winning buyers. I was angry at their lack of respect for my time and energy and their cavalier attitude in moving forward with another agent, without the courtesy of an honest discussion.

If my life continues the way it’s been going for the past few years, this may be a distinct possibility. I’d like to think that as long as I have a smile and a pulse that I’ll be interested in life, but as of late, I’m not so sure.
