Pig Tales by Iggy Oink – 9 – So here’s the thing about pigs – pigs sometimes have jobs. For instance we have been used on battlefields to sniff out mines. I think we need danger pay! And in the olden days – big ships always had pigs on board because if they foundered in a storm the sailors believed that we would always swim for the closest land. We do love the water!

Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – December 5, 2004 – I used to send Christmas cards to friends, family and clients, but I gave up that practise a number of years ago in favour of writing a personal message. I prefer this sentiment to a scripted message from a card manufacturer. I can usually sit down and write a first draft in a matter of minutes – half an hour at the most.

Pig Tales by Iggy Oink – 8 – So here’s the thing about pigs – and these are the details that we pigs are not so happy about – pork is the most consumed meat on the planet. “Hello” – “meat” – we’re not meat – we are sniggly – squiggly – little pink beings – who want to live just as much as you do. We are endlessly curious – we communicate constantly and we love too play and listen to music!

Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – December 4, 2004 – If truth be known, I’m way past cocooning and well into becoming a hermit. A relatively nice one, but a hermit nonetheless. The one thing that saves me each year from receiving the curmudgeon of the year award is my annual Christmas dinner party.

Pig Tales by Iggy Oink – 7 – So here’s the thing about pigs – when our skin is really healthy and we’re allowed to be clean – our bodies have no scabs 0r scruffy skin and hardly any wrinkles. Most of us have little course hairs all over and some of us are spotted. Others are light or dark pink.
