Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – November 21, 2004 – Dorothy, my-sister-in-law has flown the coop for two weeks “en vacance” in Paris – lucky lady. In her absence, Eric and I inevitably get together a couple of times for dinner. He always asks – I always accept – he always cooks. He prepares a wonderful meal – I eat in style and come home nourished and sleepy.

Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – November 20, 2004 – My Saturday clients cancelled our meeting at the last minute this morning – a family concern. They didn’t elaborate – I didn’t ask. We re-scheduled for next week. With an unexpected Saturday afternoon to myself, I decided to get a head start on Christmas by wrapping the Inukshuk 12 and printing their accompanying identification cards.

I’m not sure if there is ever a satisfactory answer. Parents look at their offspring and ponder their behaviour – just at their parents before them, undoubtedly shook their heads in dismay as they watched their children behave in ways foreign to them.

A Killer Smile – Woman Of Teeth
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – November 17, 2004 – This is the day. I cleared my calendar of appointments and finished everything that needed to be accomplished by noon, then headed down town to see Peter my dentist. The plan for the day was a mere two hour appointment, during which the dreaded temporary bridge was to be removed and the final, ten months in the making, permanent bridge would be smacked into place – giving me my long awaited “killer smile”.
