Back To Basics
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – November 25, 2004 – I am in the process of drawing up a list of my real estate clients, which I am going to print out on paper and put into a paper file folder. This file folder, probably a red one, will be placed in my “work” basket, where I can pick it up, touch it, write on it or edit it. It will not disappear, explode, experience a black out or be bothered if there is a power failure.

Dishaholic
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – November 24, 2004 – I grew up in a house where we had melmac dishes, in pale washed out colours of red, turquoise blue, yellow green and clay. All the clay-coloured mugs were stackable. We had eight of everything. You could have drop kicked those dishes from here to Halifax and they would never have broken.

Another Mini Muddle
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – November 23, 2004 – Today at 11:00 A.M. was meeting #2, with Christopher of WebSite design fame, for the purpose of discussing in greater detail, the possibility of us working together on my new site(s). This project is taking on a life of its own, and soon it won’t need me to orchestrate or even attend the meetings.

Crowds Of People
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – November 22, 2004 – It’s back again – “The pre-Christmas out-in-the-afternoon so you don’t get caught later on shopping with a billion other people time”. Big and I met at IKEA around 1:30 so I could return a defective thingie. We wandered around for awhile with a few items in our collective cart and then, unlike ideal shoppers, we returned them all to their respective shelves and left empty handed.

Talking With Eric
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – November 21, 2004 – Dorothy, my-sister-in-law has flown the coop for two weeks “en vacance” in Paris – lucky lady. In her absence, Eric and I inevitably get together a couple of times for dinner. He always asks – I always accept – he always cooks. He prepares a wonderful meal – I eat in style and come home nourished and sleepy.

Inukshuk Hospital
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – November 20, 2004 – My Saturday clients cancelled our meeting at the last minute this morning – a family concern. They didn’t elaborate – I didn’t ask. We re-scheduled for next week. With an unexpected Saturday afternoon to myself, I decided to get a head start on Christmas by wrapping the Inukshuk 12 and printing their accompanying identification cards.

What Is The World Coming To?
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – November 19, 2004 – This is surely a question that has been asked by every generation since the beginning of time? I’m not sure if there is ever a satisfactory answer. Parents look at their offspring and ponder their behaviour – just at their parents before them, undoubtedly shook their heads in dismay as they watched their children behave in ways foreign to them.
