Finally, Frank!
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – October 3, 2004 – My phone rang this morning at ten o’clock and it was Frank, of Web Site fame. Frank of the busy schedule. Frank of the last madcap trip to Toronto from Ottawa before his departure next Sunday to live in Shanghai.

Web Site Mania
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – October 2, 2004 – All of a sudden I have a zillion ideas about my Web Sites. Whether they are logical or not is another story. I’ve been thinking about my image. How am I perceived by my clients and business associates? What is important to me in business?

What’s Next?
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – October 1, 2004 – Well – here it is – October the first. I had an appointment today with Frank at three o’clock to discuss the development of my new Web Site. It’s now six-thirty and I haven’t heard from him yet. I last spoke with him on Thursday and he was going to either call or e-mail me with a meeting place.

The Home Stretch
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – September 30, 2004 – The last day of September. Tomorrow it will be October – the start of the last quarter of 2004. I have 92, as yet untold stories to write. I have no idea what they will be, from whence their inspiration will come, or if they will be interesting or instructive. What I do know is that I am going to finish this project, if it’s the last thing I do, and it may well be.

My Meeting With Larry
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – September 29, 2004 – I frighten myself. I arrived at the office today for my meeting with Larry, armed with one of my signature three ring binders. Instead of the usual five dividers this one had ten. Larry was bound to notice – at my last meeting with him nine years ago I had a blank sheet of paper.

“Dear Diary”
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – September 28, 2004 – I have no idea what happens when I go to bed feeling pretty darned good and wake up a few short hours later in neck-snapping mode, my own or that of anyone unfortunate enough to cross my path. Last night was one of those nights. I chatted with Big for about half an hour before I went to bed, read some more of my Moby Dick Book Club selection and turned out the light.

Making Judgements
Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – September 27, 2004 – Perhaps I should just say – “being judgmental”. As much as I’d like to believe that I don’t make judgements about other people, I do it all the time. Sometimes it’s at a sub-conscious level. I know this because I can be in a public place, surrounded by other people, and I’ll suddenly be aware that I’ve seen a person and had a gut level reaction to them.
