Global Issues
In the last 2 years I have become more aware of the extent of local, national and global animal cruelty concerns. I’ve always known about the most high profile issues like bull fighting and puppy mills, but I had limited knowledge of the extent of cruelty and the atrocities faced by animals.
NOTE: Some Pictures Are Difficult To View!
Now I know better – I am invested – I want to help. If you are a person who wants to learn more about animals and their lives, and if you’d like to make a difference, there are many ways to participate. Find out how you can help. Google an issue that speaks to you personally and learn more about it. Here are just a few of the animals in peril.
Bear Baiting in Pakistan – the bear’s claws and teeth are usually pulled out, a ring is forced through its nose or lip and secured with a chain. At a bear baiting event the animal is chained to a stake and vicious dogs are turned loose to attack him. Some bears have been forced to fight for 5 years or more, until they die or are mercifully rescued by a sanctuary.
