Heart Beats For Change

Heart Beats For Change – On November 14, 2013 – I wrote a comment – addressed to China – asking them to close down their ivory carving factories and burn their stockpiles of ivory. I made a commitment to post the same comment every day for one year. It got a couple of comments and a share or two.

I soon added another comment – asking that Lucy the elephant who is a prisoner in the Edmonton Zoo and Limba in The Bowmanville Zoo – be freed to a sanctuary. Lucy remains shivering in western Canada – Limba is dead. As the year went by I added more posts every day. My sole objective was to make people think about animals and how we are treating them all over the world. How do we all contribute to animal cruelty?

I eventually named these daily posts Heart Beats For Change. There are now 35 of them. I used to post them all every day but this task became too time consuming – about an hour and a quarter every morning. So I scaled them back and started to post them in groups. Over time they were commented upon and shared widely.

At the end of 2014 – I will come up with a new plan for Heart Beats For Change – but for those who are interested – here they are in their entirety!
