Marching For Elephants
So we don’t forget why we are Marching For Elephants on October 4, 2013 – I have compiled a grouping of elephant pictures to remind us why it’s an important day. An elephant is brutally slaughtered every 15 minutes – 4 an hour – every day. THINK about this statistic!
Do the math – elephants will be soon be gone in the wild – where they belong – if we don’t wake up and put enough pressure on global governments to act. Put the school yard bullies on notice that their thirst for ivory has to stop. Their tired self-serving excuses of traditional Asian medicine – carvings and trinkets – cultural entitlement – religious icons and trophy hunting for ignorant, rich people – no longer work!
We Need To Pay Homage To These Lost Lives
Wake up to the fact that wildlife poaching is a CRIME – whose profits support organized crime – corrupt governments – evil people and global terrorism. These depraved, heartless people will brutally kill elephants for their tusks without a second thought.
There are millions of people around the world who love elephants. We do NOT want to see them in a circus or a zoo or a logging camp or painting stupid elephant pictures or trekking uninformed tourists around a camp site. We want to see them with their families – roaming their land – crossing rivers – feeding together – teaching their young – mourning those in their families who have grown old naturally and passed on to greet their ancestors.
Elephants have much to teach us. They are incredible beings – wise – strong – honourable – loyal – smart – gentle – loving and steadfast. We humans would be lucky to have characters as fine as theirs.
SPEAK UP AND SAY ENOUGH
This Is How We Want To See Our Elephants
So We Never Forget What We Are Fighting For …
We are Marching For Elephants on October 4, 2013 so that these magnificent creatures live on in the wild – roaming wherever their senses take them – teaching us their life lessons of love and forgiveness – and ultimately making us better people by far than we could ever hope to be without them!
