Pig Tales by Iggy Oink – 26 – As the year draws to an end – Iggy Oink would like to remind you that cruelty to animals knows no limitations. Human beings will never know peace until they learn to respect and honour animals. Pigs used in religious “festivals” are tortured by supposedly good people. Not so!

And something else I bet you didn’t know – in Taiwan every 2 years there is a religious festival held to see who can grow the biggest pig. The animals are confined and force fed until they can no longer stand. Some weight 8 to 10 times what would be their normal weight. On the final day before the “weigh in” to determine the winner – they are fed sand and metal to make them weigh more. A winner is selected and then they are all killed to appease some invisible, mindless local deity. How much more cruel, depraved and vulgar can humans become?
